About my training
I grew up with dogs and I have always loved them. Over the course of my life I have learned many things about training, but I still have so much to learn! I believe in training dogs through games, shaping, and positive reinforcement, which is helping your dog to choose to do the right thing rather than luring them, or forcing them to do it. That way they will learn to make the right choice even when you aren't right with them. I have completed Susan Garrett's Recallers training course, her Homeschool the Dog course, and her Wag Nation course and I am currently taking her Handling 360 course. I am not a professional dog trainer, but I would love to help you and your dog to the best of my ability and if I am not able to help you with specific needs I will happily recommend you to a trainer that I know will be able to help you and your dog.
I am very excited to announce that I am now an AKC Approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator! This allows me to test dogs for their CGC title, virtual home manners, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes and more!
Private lessons
A one on one training where I will work with you on the specific needs of your dog. We will work towards the goals that you have for your dog and I will help you learn how to work on handling, your relationship with your dog, and obedience training.

Puppy classes
Socialization is a key factor in raising a puppy and the goal of this class is to do it in a safe environment. It is a basic obedience class that will help you to be confident in your training and get you off to a good start with your pup. The goals that we will work towards in this class are sit, down, leash work, recall, place, hand targets, staying in place, and working through distractions. For this class your puppy must have their first set of shots and have been home with you for at least a week. For puppies 9 weeks-5 months old.

Walk and Train
Walk and trains offer your dog physical and mental exercise. I focus on leash manners, basic obedience, and socialization around other dogs and people.
Pricing
$35 for a half an hour walk
$60 for a one hour walk.
$115 for a two hour walk.

Board & Train
If your dog needs work on basic obedience or you have a specific need I also offer board and trains. Your dog will stay here at Tried and True Aussies and they will get daily training as well as play time with other dogs if appropriate.
Pricing
Board and Train: Includes- One full training session daily, short sessions throughout the day, play time with other dogs (if appropriate)/exercise time.
One week - $750
Two weeks - $1400
Add-ons
Walk and trains - $30 per walk for a half an hour walk.
Socialization
This includes an off property training which is great for socialization and growing what they have already been learning during their stay.
$60 per outing.

AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Training Class
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program is a 6-week, in-person training class for puppies (up to one year old) and their owners. This class focuses on socialization, basic manners, and foundational obedience skills such as sit, down, stay, and coming when called, all taught using positive reinforcement methods.
Classes provide a safe, supportive environment for puppies to learn and grow while owners gain the tools needed for responsible care and ongoing training. The program concludes with the official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test, and puppies who pass earn an AKC medal and certificate, preparing them for the Canine Good Citizen program.

Canine Good Citizen Class
Get your dog ready to earn the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title with a supportive, positive reinforcement training class designed for real-life manners and reliable behavior. This 6 week, in-person class features 45 minute sessions where I guide you and your dog through the skills needed to successfully complete the CGC test, including polite greetings, loose leash walking, sit stay, coming when called, and more.
Each session focuses on building consistency, confidence, and communication between you and your dog. The class is designed to be fun, encouraging, and practical, helping your dog learn how to behave well in everyday situations. Positive reinforcement methods are used throughout to make training enjoyable and effective for both you and your dog.
For dogs of any age!

CGC Test
I offer AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing for dog and handler teams ready to demonstrate good manners and responsible ownership. As an AKC-Approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, I conduct evaluations in a fair, supportive environment designed to help teams feel confident and prepared.
The CGC test evaluates real-world skills such as polite greetings, loose-leash walking, coming when called, and appropriate behavior around distractions. Dogs who pass earn the AKC Canine Good Citizen title, recognizing their reliability and good behavior in the community and serving as a foundation for advanced training and activities.Testing is conducted using positive, humane handling practices and is open to dogs of all ages. If you’d like to prepare in a class setting, the test fee is included in the price of my CGC training class.
Cost for the CGC test is $30.

AKC Virtual Home Manners Testing
I offer the AKC Virtual Home Manners (VHM) program for puppies and adult dogs who are ready to build real-life, everyday manners in a home environment. This flexible AKC certification focuses on practical skills your dog uses daily, not just in a training class, but at home and out in the world.
Your dog will need to demonstrate ten essential skills, including basic obedience, polite leash walking, staying in place, and comfortably allowing handling and grooming.
The VHM program can be completed in two ways:
Virtually, by submitting videos of your dog performing each required skill for review, or
In person, with me as your AKC-Approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Two title levels are available: Virtual Home Manners Puppy (VHMP) – for puppies up to one year old.
Virtual Home Manners Adult (VHMA) – for dogs four months and older.
Dogs who successfully pass earn an official AKC title added to their permanent record. This makes Virtual Home Manners an excellent foundation for continued training and a stepping stone toward future AKC programs such as Canine Good Citizen and beyond.
